Eucharistic Ministers to the Sick
ANNOUNCEMENTS
All current Eucharistic Ministers are invited to join with our newly appointed Ministers on Monday, May 12 for an evening of reflection on the awesome mystery of the Eucharist and on the role of extraordinary ministers as servants at the Table of the Lord. We’ll greet the new ministers, share some time and treats, and then lift our hearts in prayer. Come to the Parish Center at 7:30pm to begin our evening together. New ministers will gather in the Church at 6:15pm to receive instructions regarding OLV/OLH procedures prior to joining in the parish Center. Questions? Call Patricia Clock at 775-5744 x112.
ABOUT
Our parish is fortunate to have over thirty Eucharistic Ministers to the Sick. These individuals respond to the promptings of the Holy Spirit and carry out their baptismal call to service in a special way. Most of these ministers bring Communion to parishioners who are ill at home or prevented by some medical condition from going to Church on a regular basis.
Several of our ministers routinely visit nursing homes or extended care facilities in the area, where they bring Communion and also conduct prayer services. These facilities include the Pavilion in Hyannis, the Cape Regency in Centerville, and the Harbor Point Assisted Living Facility in Centerville. Our ministers have also assisted the diocese at the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Cape and Islands in Sandwich.
Our pastor, Father Mark, urges parishioners who are sick or unable to come to Church to let us know if they wish to receive Communion at home.
